Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is an Indian actress, who gained notoriety for her roles in the film Hum Aapke Hin Koun as well as Beta Saajan. She started her career in 1980s. The character she played in Tezaab Anil Kapoor in the Tezaab film earned her an enormous amount of attention. The next film she acted in, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared as well. Born into an Mumbai middle-class family, and began dancing at a young age. When she was young began acting, but had a difficult time as a majority of her movies were unsuccessful. However, she eventually achieved success and went on to become one of the most prominent actors in the Indian industry of film. Following her marriage, she took some time out from acting, before returning. She played a major role as a lead actress in Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit was nominated in fifteen Filmfare Awards. Of these the awards she's won 8. Dixit was also awarded the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Her fame is based on her involvement in social work too.
